Investigating the Twolegs

[Darkpaw]

Darkpaw snorted, giving Ninjapaw a doubtful glance. "This isn't our exit until something is open," he replied. "And we need to find someway out of here with nightstar and Pinepaw's help." His bristling tail tip twitched nervously back and forth.

[Nightstar]

Nightstar gave a thoughtful nod at Pinepaw's idea. "Sure; it's worth a try." Scrabbling at the window again, she tried mewing their plan to Darkpaw and Ninjapaw, who had just jumped up to the window and was saying something to Darkpaw.

"Listen! We're going to get the Twolegs to open the door and distract them! You two run out and make a break for it, then!"

She was pretty sure they couldn't hear her too well, though, so she mimed the plan, indicating the door, giving a quiet yowl, and running in place on the windowsill.

[Darkpaw]

Darkpaw looked intently at Nightstar, straining his ears to listen. He nodded and leaped down onto the floor. "I hope this plan works," he muttered, his tail tip twitching back and forth.

If it doesn't, I know you would be able to find your own way out, Shadowclaw purred.

Darkpaw gritted his teeth together. Will you ever stop bugging me?

Shadowclaw growled, and Darkpaw flinched. You will listen to me, Darkpaw, do you understand that? As long as you do, you will become the greatest warrior in the forest!

Darkpaw didn't reply as he sat down, closing his eyes. He saw Shadowclaw's image, his sleek black fur nearly blending in with the black background; the only things he could realy see were his father's icey blue eyes. You do not know how much control I have over you, his father growled just before Darkpaw opened his eyes again; his eyes were now both a chilling ice blue like his father's, but he didn't know that.

I hope Nightstar and Pinepaw will be able to get us out of here... he thought quietly. I don't care what punishment I might recieve, I just want to be out of this place.

[Nightstar]

Nightstar nodded in reply, and then indicated the door again to show that the pair of trapped cats should go near it.

"Now, we begin!" Nightstar mewed to Pinepaw, leaping down from the windowsill. "I'll take the dangerous job; you focus on leading the pair out of there, at least!"

Running over by the water wall that was the door, she let out a loud, wailing yowl that must have frightened off all of the prey from there to the ShadowClan camp!

After a moment, the larger Twoleg stepped outside, saying something in a scolding voice. Nightstar hissed, and darted backwards, while the Twoleg followed, cooing in the same soothing voice it had earlier. It said something that sounded like "Whatareallthesecatsdoingaround?" though Nightstar couldn't make head nor tail of it while she weaved and waited for the apprentices to emerge from the nest.

[Darkpaw]

Darkpaw bolted for the door, not bothering to see if Ninjapaw followed. Thank Starclan! he thought, running away from the nest and back towards the forest. He ran quickly, throwing up leaves as he skidded to a halt. But as soon as he stopped, the odd coldness of leaf-bare hit him and he fluffed out his fur, his breath showing as he tried to calm down his racing heart.

He looked behind him, waiting for the others to come. Now I know I never want to see another Twoleg again! Darkpaw gave himself a shake, trying to keep himself warm; it finally occured to him that inside a Twoleg's nest, it was oddly warm. He didn't know where it came from, but it made it seem even more cold than it really was out in the crisp forest. His ice blue eyes glinted nervously as he looked around the trees, his breathing finally going back to normal.

"Shadowclaw?" he whispered, smelling an odd scent near him. Suddenly, a large tom with dark brown fur, black legs, and ice blue eyes stepped out of the bushes.

"Well, it's good to see you again, Darkpaw," Shadowclaw teased.

Darkpaw narrowed his eyes. "Won't Nightstar and the others see you?" he hissed.

Shadowclaw shook his head, the stars in his pelt twinkling dimly. "Only you can see me," He meowed. "Now, tomorrow--if you aren't in trouble--I want to see you in the Needled Hollow at sunhigh."

"What for?" Darkpaw asked, but Shadowclaw had already disappeared. The apprentice lashed his tail as his ears laid flat against his head. He muttered something under his breath and glanced back towards the nest, wondering if the others were okay.

[Dustpaw]

Pinepaw allowed Darkpaw straight past him and dove in the twoleg nest for Ninjapaw. He spotted him sitting under a fluffy rock type thing. "Ninjapaw come on and get out of here!" Pinepaw grabbed Ninjapaw by the scruff and dragged him out the door.

[Nightstar]

Nightstar saw Pinepaw and Ninjapaw coming out of the nest. "Let's go!" she yowled triumphantly, also grabbing Ninjapaw's scruff so Pinepaw could move more quickly with the help. Heading towards the woods, they kept running until they could no longer see the nest.

[Darkpaw]

Darkpaw saw Nightstar and Pinepaw approaching with Ninjapaw and ran behind them, not looking back at the nest. I wont ever come here again! he thought, his pelt bristling as he remembered the Twoleg. Twolegs can't be trusted. His paws pricked with uneasiness as he glanced at Nightstar. What is Largestar going to do when Nightstar reports this? Me and Ninjapaw will be in so much trouble.

[Dustpaw]

Pinepaw held on tightly to Ninjapaw's scruff relieved Nightstar helped him. He dashed into the wodds towards ShadowClan camp.

[Ninjapaw]

Twolegs, ugly beings of nature. Ninjapaw throught as he ran out of the nest. "Wow, that was fun, eh Darkpaw?" Ninjapaw said.

[Darkpaw]

Darkpaw rolled his eyes, his pelt bristling. "If you mean nearly being made into kittypets, then that was a lot of fun," he growled, sarcasm in his voice. His tail tip twitched back and forth as he thought, I just wish I hadn't listened to Ninjapaw in the first place...

[Ninjapaw]

"Almost" Ninjapaw pointed out. At least I didn't tell Darkpaw everything at the Twolegs did when he was sleeping.

[Darkpaw]

Darkpaw shook his head, his tail fur bristling. His ears laid flat against his head as he meowed, "What do you think Largestar will do to us?" His voice was curious, yet their was a slight tone of fear in it.

[Ninjapaw]

"well, we will be not allowed to go outside of camp for a moon or two" Ninjapaw answered peacefuly.

[Nightstar]

Nightstar snorted. "You'll be lucky that you don't get the same treatment that your little Clanmate recieves when he trespassed on both ThunderClan and WindClan territory for two days in a row, even when he was warned. It seems that ShadowClan like to stick their noses into where they shouldn't be..."

This last sentence was not meant as a taunt, merely Nightstar thinking aloud.
