Investigating the Twolegs

[Darkpaw]

The fur along Darkpaw's spine bristled slightly. Yeah. This is all your fault, he thought. "Well, how about we go and meet this new cat?" he suggested, getting to his paws. His tail twitched as he scented the air, trying to pick up the scent of the new cat.

[Ninjapaw]

"the cat is in a brown box." Ninjapaw answered. Man, will we ever get out?

[Darkpaw]

Darkpaw sighed. "Well, let's go find it, then," he mewed. He picked up another cat's scent, guessing it belonged to the new one. He then began to follow it, padding quietly through the Twoleg's nest. I wish I had never gotten myself into this mess, he thought irritably, his tail tip twitching back and forth. Then I wouldn't be in this mess, and Ninjapaw would have to look out for himself. He rolled his eyes and stopped as he came to a large brown box. He prodded it with his paw. "Hello?" he meowed, wondering if the cat inside could hear him.

[Ninjapaw]

Ninjapaw was looking the other way. "Hello?" Ninjapaw mewed. Wait, the cat was fluffy, too fluffy. "i think the cat is fake." Ninjapaw said.

[Darkpaw]

"Why would you think that?" Darkpaw asked. Don't trust what he says... his father's voice murmured in his head. It has to be a cat; either that, or Ninjapaw is telling you lies.

What?! Ninjapaw wouldn't do that!

Oh, wouldn't he? How can you be so sure of yourself? His father growled, and Darkpaw cringed.

"Are you sure it was a cat you saw them bring in?" Darkpaw asked Ninjapaw, narrowing his eyes.

[Ninjapaw]

"they bought a cat, but it was falling a apart. and the kit was crying" Ninjapaw answered. "it looks like something is troubling you. Need something to take off your chest?" He asked.

[Darkpaw]

"Well...," Darkpaw murmured, looking up at Ninjapaw. He was about to continue when he heard his father's voice.

Do not tell him about me!

Why shouldn't I? Darkpaw challenged.

There was silence for a moment. If you tell him, all that you strive for will be destroyed, and you will never be able to be Clan leader.

Darkpaw's gaze fell to the ground as he shifted his weight from paw to paw. "Well, it's really nothing," he mewed. He then looked back at the brown box, uncertainty flashing through his eyes.

Good job, Shadowclaw purred.

Shut up, Darkpaw retorted.

Do not talk to your father like that! Shadowclaw snapped.

Suddenly, Darkpaw yowled and fell over onto his side, writhing on the ground as he felt like his whole body were on fire. What are you doing?! he shouted in his mind.

Never underestimate my powers, Darkpaw, Shadowclaw growled. I have more control over you than you know.

[Ninjapaw]

"Darkpaw? Are you ok?" Ninjapaw asked. Ninjapaw walked closer to Darkpaw. "darkpaw?" Ninjapaw could feel evil. "darkpaw, What is happening to you?"

[Darkpaw]

Darkpaw stopped moving and was laying still, gasping for breath with his eyes closed shut. He groaned and unsteadily rose to his feet, looking like he would fall over at any moment. As he opened his eyes, they were different; his right eye was still amber, but his left eye was now ice blue.

Disobey me again, and I'll make sure your punishment is worse, his father growled.

Yes, Shadowclaw, Darkpaw replied, not wanting to argue with him now. He stared at Ninjapaw, his eyes blank for a moment before they finally focused on the present. He shook his head and murmured, "I can't tell you."

[Ninjapaw]

"okay" Ninjapaw said. Hmmm, he is hiding something.....

[Darkpaw]

"We just need to find a way out of here," Darkpaw mewed. He then gazed around the room, his different colored eyes scaning everything. He then saw an open doorway and headed for it, not sure where it led. There is a way out of here, right Shadowclaw? he thought.

There is, but you need to figure that out on your own, Shadowclaw replied.

[Nightstar]

Nightstar crashed through the bushes outside. The small scent trail had lead to this Twoleg nest. "It leads inside," she growled. "Are all ShadowClan apprentices so inclined to break the warrior code?"

Investigating the outside of the Twoleg nest cautiously, she leapt up to the window to look inside. "Let's see..."

Icy cold feelings of mixed apprehension and satisfaction filled her. She saw two cats, the missing apprentices for sure, scanning the room inside of the nest. "They're in here!" Nightstar called. "I suppose we must help them out, though I'm not sure if they'd want to leave or not... the black one there (Ninjapaw) seems quite content."

With a huff, she stood up on her hind legs, wobbling at the same time, and began scrabbling with her front paws at the window, trying to get the two apprentices' attention. "Come over here in case I need backup!" Nightstar also yowled over her shoulder to her traveling companions. "You never know around Twolegs!"

[Dustpaw]

"Thank StarClan! Well I have an idea. If we could somehow distract the twolegs one of us could get inside when we open the door..." Pinepaw knew that fear scent came off him in waves. "Shold we go through with my plan?"

[Darkpaw]

Darkpaw stopped and his ears twitched. What is that noise? he thought. He turned his head and gasped as he saw Nightstar, his ice blue eye and amber eye widening in astonishment.

He heard a sigh from his father inside of his head. Well, seems like someone was looking for you, he mewed.

I'm kind of surprised it's Nightstar, Darkpaw thought.

Well, at least someone showed up. Shadowclaw muttered something else Darkpaw didn't hear, but he wasn't listening as he raced acrossed the room and leaped up the the water-wall, placing his paws on it. "Nightstar, what are you doing here?!" he exclaimed. "And Pinepaw?" He felt confused, relieved, and scared all at the same time, and he wondered if Nightstar even heard him.

[Ninjapaw]

"Woow, once i'm happy to see a ThunderClan cat, Let alone the leader." Ninjapaw said. Ninjapaw Run to the Darkpaw. "This is our exit." Ninjapaw said to Darkpaw slowly.
