Herbs that medicine cats use for the sick, wounded, etc. If your character is a medicine cat, we recommend you refer to these. Others can lookie, but it might not be much use to them...

Alder- Helps reduce swelling and infection when chewed into a poultice and applied to a wound. Also may be chewed by a cat to help prevent or aid toothache by reducing swelling, pain, and helping to prevent complications.
Alfalfa- Helps prevent tooth decay.
Aloe Vera- Chew the leaves to get the gel inside, which can be applied to soothe and help to heal burns and skin problems/rashes.
Ash tree- New shoots can be chewed up and applied to poisonous bites (especially snake) to help draw out the poison. The seeds can be eaten to fight pain by cramps or a stitch in the side.
Borage- Leaves and roots are used to stave off fever if ingested. Seeds and leaves can be eaten by queens to help with their milk supply. Should be eaten green, never dry!
Bramble Twigs- Chew to a fine syrup. Helps with sleep. Ingest only in moderation.
Burdock- Roots may be chewed into a poultice and applied to a wound to help draw out infection. Leaves can be applied to a wound free of infection to speed healing.
Catmint (also known as catnip)- Best cure for greencough if leaves are ingested. Also helps relieve other coughs and congestion.
Celadine- Can help strengthen weak eyes.
Chamomile- Leaves and flowers may be consumed to sooth a cat, and increase energy and strengthen them a bit.
Cobwebs- When gathered and pressed onto a wound with a heavy amount, can staunch a wound's bleeding. Only used with necessary wounds, however, as they run an increased risk of infection.
Coltsfoot- Useful for clearing airways or phlegm from the lungs.
Comfrey- Used to help heal broken bones.
Echinacia- Can help with infection.
Feverfew- Leaves can be consumed to reduce fever, in addition to be consumed to aid with colds and stomach ailments.
Honey- Used to soothe sore, scratchy, or damaged throat, especially with smoke inhalation.
Horsetail- Can help soothe scratches and bites, and prevent infection.
Juniper- Berries ease stomachache and other stomach ailments, and can serve as a relatively good counter poison. Leaves are good with easing coughs and other respiratory problems.
Lavender- Leaves and flowers are particularily good for easing head pains and throat soreness. Inhaling the scent can also calm the nerves.
Marigold- Leaves and flowers are good for relieving chills if consumed. They can also be chewed and placed on wounds to prevent infection.
Mallow- Can ease a bellyache, and can help with eye ailments. May also help with a queen's milk supply, though not as good as borage. Also acts as a mild counter poison.
Mousebile- If applied to a stubborn tick, it should fall off. Be careful not to ingest any on accident, as it tastes extremely foul.
Wild Poppy seeds- Seeds can be eaten to remove pain and help with sleep. Leaves can be consumed for relief with joint aches. Flowers can help with coughs. Should only be eaten in moderation, especially with nursing or pregnant queens, as it can reduce vitamins in milk, etc.
Tansy- Leaves, flowers, and stems may be eaten together to get rid of worms. Leaves may be chewed to relieve joint aches. Flowers can help with coughs. Pregnant queens should NOT be given tansy, as it can cause birth defects.
Thyme- Can calm anxiety if eaten, and can aid in sleep.
Water Mint- Helpful with bellyaches if eaten.
Willow Tree- Water from beneath the bark can be dripped in the eyes to improve blurry vision. It may also be applied to help with dry patches of skin. Small amounts of bark may be consumed for cramps, diarrhea, fevers, or to act against inflammation.
Yarrow- If eaten, induces vomiting. Good for getting rid of ingested poison like deathberries. Entire plant can be chewed and applied to wounds to relieve pain and prevent infection.
DEATHBERRIES- POISONOUS! Do not eat, as berries, even one, or any other part of the plant, can easily be fatal. Induce vomiting immediately after eating. However, they may still be deadly. Roots & leaves may be chewed together and applied to sore places, but must NEVER be applied to open wounds, and you must be extremely careful not to swallow, and to wash your mouth afterwards. ShadowClan sometimes use the berries for cats that are beyond saving, and are having a long, suffering death. Also known as Yew.
